Il Baron Resort è un Hotel molto confortevole, la spiaggia è probabilmente una delle più belle e lunghe a Sharm. La barriera è ancora bella. Il cibo è buono. Il servizio è curato. Nessuna maledizione.
Peccato che buona parte delle stanze poste sul lato sinistro entrando - le peggiori sono le ultime dell’ala - sono o sulle cucine, o sui gruppi elettrogeni, o sul depuratore, o su tutto quel che c’è di puzzolente e rumoroso nell’albergo. Infatti non sono riuscito a ben identificare l’origine di puzze e rumori per la fitta coltre di verde che nasconde tali imbarazzanti strutture.
La prima stanza lato sinistro propostami era bella ma molto rumorosa (n.336?). Non era possibile aprire la finestra per il fracasso di motori che c’era e il forte odore di cucine e/o combustibili. La seconda propostami era tutta sulla destra quasi a confine con il Coral Beach Resort, comoda per la spiaggia, silenziosa, piccola e piuttosto spartana (3 stelle?). La terza stanza tutta sulla sinistra (spartana anch’essa), che poi ho tenuto, era sulla passeggiata serale del centro shopping proprio di fronte all’arena degli spettacoli. Quindi in alcuni orari molto rumorosa. Inoltre tutta quell’area veniva riempita da gas di scarico, anche i corridoi interni, in alcune condizioni particolari di vento (è successo 2 o 3 sere, costringendoci alla fuga).
Non ritengo di aver avuto, nonostante sia in genere di mouth good, adequate accommodation for the price paid despite or perhaps because of the tour operator Alpitour. About 900 € full board starting October 20, 2008. At the reception, the Baron continued to talk of standard room ... to my complaints with the assistance Alpitour sort of actions are not followed. Apparently it was all planned.
I also had the impression of being intentionally thrown to the left of the hotel first, then all right, then hard left again, almost to tire the customer and convince an incongruous situation.
The TO then also moved the flight from Bologna to Rimini repaying a little cash (about overbooking Bologna?). The flight was a Koral Blue, first leg decisamente di brutto aspetto. Anche per Alpitour, leadership di mercato o no, siamo solo pacchi. Il ritorno a Firenze è durato dalle 4 del mattino alle 4 del pomeriggio tra pulman, aereo, pulman, auto.
Ovviamente il Resort era a forte maggioranza armeni, moldavi, ucraini…tutti abbastanza educati. Si dice tra l’altro che abbiano tariffe di maggior favore rispetto a noi italiani (-30%?).
Ottimo e ragionevole il Diving Albatros situato nella baia, che lavora senza lo stress tipico degli accompagnatori di gruppi e con buoni equipaggi, pazienti e servizievoli. Dell’altro diving non so niente.
Baron di nuovo? Forse. Alpitour? Basta così.
Aggiungo una piantina dell’area perchè io ho faticato molto a capire dov’erano gli alberghi che mi interessavano e cioè Sol Melia, Baron Resort, Conrad…
Sull’uso dei pontili non ci sono stati grandi problemi salvo al Conrad. La cosa mi sembra stupida ma è così: quello che dovrebbe essere un valore aggiunto per tutti gli albergatori può essere gestito come un problema.
The Baron Resort is a very comfortable hotel, the beach is probably one of the most beautiful in Sharm. The reef is still fine. The food is good. The service accurate. No curse.
But…Some of the rooms on the left side entering the hotel – the worst are the last ones – are over the cooking area, or power generators, or pollution …, or too much near to the origin of all bad smells and noises. Infact I didn’t realize what effectively was the origin of bad smells and noises because there are very high and dense bushes to hide them.
The first room the receptionist proposed was fine looking, the best, but very noisy (nr.336?). It was impossible to open the window for the engine noise in the courtyard and the smell coming from the cooking area. The second one was in the opposite wing, near the Coral Beach Montazah, close to the beach, noiseless, little (3 stars level?). The third one I saw, the one I chose, was over the shopping area, in front of the arena. So, it was very noisy in the evening till 11 p.m.. All that area has a awful problem because sometimes you can have, depending probably on the wind, all the wing full of gasole smell (2 or 3 times in the week).
I don’t think I received the right consideration for the sum paid out. Almost 900 € full pension treatment, depart on October, 20th. Standard room, they said, the reception and the T.O. assistance… the smell or noise can be “standard”? The T.O. made nothing special to put it right.
The T.O., again, changed the airport from Bologna to Rimini 2 days before the trip. The airplane was one of the Koral blue airway company, bad seeing going to Sharm, better coming back. Also for Alpitour, market leader or not, we are only postal parcels.
Obviously the Resort had a large concentration of armens, Russians, … polite people, bad dressed. Not so awful as many person say.
Very functional and reasonably priced the Albatros Top Diving, situated near the Coral Beach Montazah, not stressfull and good staff equipped , precise and helpful.
